September, 2026
We're already taking orders, and have a small backlog, but won't be able to satisfy them until 14 September - at which point we'll process the orders received.
As indicated above, we're travelling back to the UK in the coming week. As usual, we've had a wonderful time in France but, boy, was it hot. Mind you, I think things were little better in the UK.
As soon as we're back, I'll be busy working on the counter orders I've received whilst away. There are a few of these, but the queue isn't too long so, if you're keen to receive counters, I suggest you make contact now.
The more observant amongst you (at least, those of you without adblockers) should be seeing a significant change to the site. We've removed Google Ads. These have been a good source of moderate income (around £10 per month) over the past few years, and I've always passed the payments to my daughter, Natasha, as a 'thank you' for the technical work behind the current version of LYG. I've only ever read one complaint about them (so thanks for your tolerance) but have been aware, for some time, that they are rather invasive and so distract from the 'Sponsored Downloads' and LYG Ads on the site - and these are placed by companies supporting me - so I deemed it unfair to keep them.
Hopefully you appreciate the new (old) cleaner look to the site. Of course, this means that I am even more appreciative of those of you that SUPPORT Limey yank Games (see banner at the head of the page).
We've made another change too. Whilst it is less immediately obvious, it will no doubt be just as appreciated, as the removal of Google Ads, by those of you that it does affect. We have removed Google Analytics. Whilst this won't have a direct impact on you, the fact that Ads and Analytics have both been removed, means that we no longer serve any cookies and, as such, don't need to have a (Cookie) Consent Management Platform (CMP). There's no longer the need to untick (uncheck for you in the USA) seemingly hundreds of cookies/vendors' 'legitimate interest', if you object to them, every time you clear cookies from your cache. As with Ads, I've only had one visitor complain but I could empathise. I was obliged to have a CMP as I wanted to host Google Ads but, due to the low revenue it generated, I wanted a 'free' one. At the time, none of the free CMPs appeared to offer a 'Reject All' - hence the pain you were required to go through with masses of unticking. I'll admit, until I was in the process of removing the CMP we had, I hadn't realised that GDPR requires any CMP used to include a 'Reject All'.
So, again, thanks for putting up from the inconveniences my modest monetisation of the site had created for you, and I hope you enjoy the return to the older 'feel'.
In other good news, we have a somewhat healthier number of files added this month, after a few months of 'drought'.
As mentioned previously, I've added a LOT of SPI titles (and a few from other publishers) during my time away. I was fortunate enough to be offered a collection of 74 games which I picked up en-route to France. It contains a few titles I want to keep, but there are there are also a number that duplicate ones I already own. There'll be a few more to add once I am back in the UK and, of course, I'll then be able to ship them too - so take a look in the LYG Shop and a take a trip down memory lane.
And finally...
My thanks as always to our sponsors, advertisers, contributors, customers and visitors.
