We're a couple of days early with this month's update, as I'll be travelling back to France over the weekend.
Last month I once again had the opportunity to meet friends old and new at Consimworld Expo in Tempe, Arizona. I think it is safe to say a good time was had by all (despite the best efforts of Covid and CrowdStrike), and my thanks go out to John Kranz for organising it all.
I managed to get in three games of War of the Ring using Ken Demyan's updated map, counters and cards. As well as his latest Battles of Middle Earth variant: Field of Celebrant and a couple of other games. Both games atttracted a satisfying level of interest and orders are already coming in.
Now, as mentioned, I'm off to France for the second-half of our summer there. Whilst there, I hope to be collaborating with Yves Roig on a new Brandywine game, our follow-up to 'Gettysburg - A Time for Heroes'
Due to our travels, the LYG Shop is now closed until:
- September 17.
We're accepting orders during this period, but will not be able to fulfill them until mid/late September.
'Gettysburg - A Time for Heroes' (to be published by Worthington Games) is now available for pre-order and the solitaire rules are available on BGG.
The latest update from Worthington states:
"We have approved the files and hard copy of A Time for Heroes. The game is in production and should be hitting a ship in the next 2 to 3 weeks. The game should then be in our hands late August to early September so...
...we will be shipping by the beginning of October we hope!"
The map and counters for 'Fields of Celebrant', our latest variant addition to SPI's Battles of Middle Earth, are now available for order and the Vassal module is also available. You'll find the rules freely downloadable in the Resources section of the site.

Also, just a reminder that during 2024, with the occasional exception, we will only be accepting updates to existing files; we will not be uploading new content (our storage limits don't allow it). With Vassal and ZT we will continue to add cross-links to those platform's sites - but we won't be hosting new files that are available on those sites.
