July 2020
Buffalo Wings is ATO's first Kickstarter campain - and the first campaign I have personally subscribed to. I already have the first edition but this is such a great little game that I want to get the upgraded components AND, ESPECIALLY, the ground attack and bombing rules that have just been unlocked as a stretch goal! The original edition (and I believe the non KS 2nd edition) is air-to-air only.
Steve Rawlings and ATO have been great supporters of this site for a long, long time, so please consider supporting them in this great little Kick Starter project.
I'm preparing this update a week early, as next weekend I am hoping we will be on our way to France to visit our home there; the home we last saw 9-months ago! If I have the site update prepared I can just hit <Publish> and then we can concentrate on getting ready to hit the road.
Its a 12-hour journey and we normally take a hotel break in Calais. This time, however, we'll only have the first hour of the journey under our belts as we'll be leaving from Natasha's, having visited our 3-year old granddaugther, Serena, for the fist time in 4-months (she'll have come on a long way in that tiem). We'll leave Natasha's at midnight and have a striaght 11-hour run ahead of us. Hoping to by-pass Paris before the rush-hour kicks in in earnest.
We appear to have an air theme on the site ths month. The above advert/tribute is as a specila thanks to GMT. We have many generous sponsors, but GMT really is exceptional. Thanks Gene and Co.
Anyhow, enough about me. Theres some big news to announce.
This was posted, over on Consimworld, by Dale Larsen (creator of Cyberboard) - after 10-years in the wilderness:
CyberBoard has been open sourced
It looks like the last time I looked at the Consimworld forum it was early 2013 and I've spent some time catching up with the posts before posting this note.
For the last decade or so I was pretty much heads down focused on my real life career and finally retired a couple years ago. It was a huge adjustment to just stop working from being solely focused on work.
So I'm back among the idle and I'm here to announce the open sourcing of the CyberBoard source code. This is the first place I'm announcing it and I'll also post on BGG before long. But this site was always the best and most faithful support for CyberBoard.
It took quite some time to get the codebase up-to-snuff with the tools and libraries now currently in use. You can learn the particulars at the GitHub site. See the README.md file.
So without further ado here it is:
https://github.com/CyberBoardPBEM/cbwindows
Also, the CyberBoard web site has been moved to be hosted on GitHub behind my domain at:
http://cyberboard.norsesoft.com/
Enjoy!

Enjoy - and STAY SAFE!
BREXIT & Our EU Friendly Shipping
Despite the UK vote to leave the European Union, our EU Friendly Shipping Service is continuing for the present. Remember that we offer EU Friendly Shipping Service to all of our sponsors. It reduces their costs as well as saving you money related to VAT charges. Please get your favourite publisher to talk to us about how we could work with them.
And finally...
My thanks as always to our sponsors, advertisers, contributors and visitors.
