January, 2026

Let me start, of course, by wishing everyone a Happy New Year.

2025 was a fairly uneventful year for LYG, though it is our first full year with our new hosting service, Hostinger (we joined December '24), and I have to say that I have been very happy with them to date. I haven't done detailed analysis, but I get the impression that our visitor numbers have increase by around 15-20% after several years of fairly consistent numbers. I suspect this is largely down to the die-cut counter offering. This has proved very popular and has, no doubt, attracted a new type of visitor.

We now offer over 350 different sets of counters and well as a great range of maps too. My sincere thanks to the artists that have granted me the privilege of making their work available.

2025 also saw me introduced to a new gaming platform that I must tell you about "Rally the Troops". Whilst it only has a limited number of titles available, what makes it different to the likes of Vassal, Zun Tzu and Cyberboard, etc., is that it implements the games' rules. I can't begin to tell you how this improves the playing experience for me. Check it out.

2026 got off to a great start for me too since, this morning (1 Jan), I have handed over 'Waning Crescent, Shattered Cross' to Terry Simo for final development. I have been working on the game for over 10 years now, with a hiatus for the last 4 years after initial development stalled. I've spent the last 4-months dusting down the design and have finally got it back to a state where I'm happy for Terry to start work on it and hopefully, at long last, bring it over the line.

The selection of 'blank' counters have been added to the LYG Shop, whilst work on the Haff Gap counters has commenced (but, I admit, is making slow progress).

And finally...

My thanks as always to our sponsors, advertisers, contributors, customers and visitors.
