IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - LYG's DAYS MAY BE NUMBERED
Blue Host have today informed me that they will be applying data storage limits from November 1st (yes, just three weeks away). I have no idea how that will affect the site other than the fact I know we'll be WAY OVER whatever they apply.
I do have the option to move to a different plan and lock in my unlimited storage (for a finite time) but this is significantly more expensive than the current plan - AND THEY HAVE GIVEN ME JUST THREE DAYS TO DECIDE IF I WANT THIS OPTION.
Crap customer service or what?!!
This is not targeted at LYG, they are hitting their entire customer base in this way. Hopefully folk will vote with their feet. I intend to (how soon I've yet to decide) - trouble is I will not be able to move the migrate elsewhere with reasonable effort/cost. So, it looks as though LYG (in the form you know (and hopefully love) it) is going to disappear.
As I say, I have no idea what will happen on November 1st, but I expect it to be catastrophic (I will attempt to contact their customer services (sic) to determine what will happen). So, if there are files you want to download (or counters/maps you want to enquire about*) , I suggest you do it NOW.

* I have actually placed ordering of counters on hold temporarily due to the post-France backlog I had an the influx of orders since the LYG Shop opened again this month. However, express and interest via email and I will get back to you when I can.
UPDATE: I've purged enough files, I believe, to qualify for the 'affordable' plan. Fortunately I have only had to get rid of a few apparently orphaned large files and a few ZT and Vassal files that I was able to replace with links to the appropriate sites. So, no loss of access to any files. I'll move to the new plan around the 28th, a couple of days short of the November 1st deadline.
However, I am anticipating this being a one-year solution and then I will have migrated the 'shop' elsewhere and the hosting aspect of the site will come to an end. I know this will disappoint, especially for those of you that use Cyberboard, but hopefully you'll have enjoyed the 21 years of service.

Thanks to everyone for their patience as we spent the Summer at out home in France. Unfortunately I don't have access to the equipment necessary to make counters whilst I am there; nor to the print shop that does our maps.
But we're now back in the UK again and so it is back to business as usual - or, actually, not a usual since, not only do we have some exciting new counter sets (including CAMPAIGN FOR NORTH AFRICA), but we're also going to be announcing an entirely new product line next month.
It is going to take a while to work through the backlog of map and counter orders we already have so your continued patience would be appreciated. However, get your orders to us and we'll get around to them just as soon as we can.
Additional good news is that we're likely to be closed for a (somewhat) shorter period next year as our plans are a little different for 2024. Sally and I will be celebrating 40 years of marriage and so we'll spend less time in France but enjoy a 'special' holiday later in the year. Crupes! I've just realised that LYG has been running for more than half of my married life!!!
And yet more good news... As per the heading above, we've slashed the prices of our paper and canvas maps. Our supplier has reduced their prices and so, naturally, we want to pass on the benefit. Take a look at the new prices HERE.
Want more good news? Here it is: We can now offer PREMIUM COUNTERS using superior paper for heavier and thicker counters with more vibrant colours. There is a small premium to the cost too, but counters using the original paper also remain available.

It was 20 Years Ago Today...
Well, perhaps not 'today', I'm not exactly sure which day, but 2023 is
LYG's 20th ANNIVERSARY!!!
Time passes in the blink of an eye. I originally created LYG as a project to allow me to practice my HTML. Now, 20 years later, we’re still here. We have 25 great sponsors, we host 1,200 files, we have over 15,000 users each year and our map and counter printing services are great successes.
I think all of that deserves some form off celebration and many of our sponsors agree. So…
