How to get started:
One of the players starts a new game, either Basic
or Advanced.
When you create a new game, you will first be promted to create
the diffrent gamefiles. Just take it easy as Cyber Board will
automaticly create 8 gamefiles for you; one for each player and
one spectator file. Next step is to e-mail the different files to
the different players. I recomend to send the Spectator file to
each player. This file is a good way to check that you only show
those cards that you are supposed to show. If you are fewer
players than 7, just skip the ones not used, thier boards will be
in the box but are easy to ignore.
So the files are sent, time to start the game.
Decide who will be the first to draw cards. This
player opens his game file and moves cards from the Crown Card
Tray to his Playing board. After you have drawn the right amount
of cards you need to mark them all and take ownership of them.
This is to ensure that no other player will be able to see your
cards. The take ownership command is under the 'Action' menu.
Look at and arrange your cards:
So far, so good! Now, flip the cards over and arrange them as you want them on your board. Flip the cards over that you DO NOT want to show the other players . Now, release ownership of the those cards that are faced up. The command is under the 'Action' menu. Put markers and Nobles on the places that you control.
Send your first move:
Time to send your first file to all the others, remember to send to all. Press the little envelope with a floppy disk up in the task bar.
You will be asked to give it a name or accept the name that Cyber Board recommends to you.
I suggest that you open the Spectator file and run thru the move file before you send it off to make sure that you are only showing the other players what you want them to see, at least until you feel comfortable with the program.
Write an e-mail to the other players and attach the *.gmv file.
Open your first move:
When you recieve your opponents first move, open your own gamefile, then load up the move file by pressing on the open envelope. Use the VCR button up in the taskbar. Sometimes it can be a bit annoying to watch all that has happened (as CB records everything even the tiniest move of a card), so I usually just jump to the end and accept the move during the card drawing for each player. After you have reached the end of the recorded move, accept it and player two repeats the steps of drawing cards.
The distribution of the cards can become a bit slow as every player has to watch the card drawing of each player and each and every one has to wait for his/her turn before they can draw cards. One way to shorten the operation is to have one player distribute all the cards to every player, send the move file to every one, every one can after that arrange thier cards, and send their move file to the the one that has the 'Channcellor' as he runs all the move files. When he has run them all, and the boards look right he makes his first move. He makes his first turn moves and sends them to the other players. They will now be given the option to start the game at the situation he had in his game when he started.
