February 2012

Thank you everyone for giving us such a great start to 2012 with a massive increase in traffic (four times the old average daily visits and a month's worth of old site traffic in the first three days following launch) and lots of emails and posts congratulating us on the new site - all very much appreciated.

I'd like to especially thanks those that have 'Liked' us on Facebook and started to 'Follow' us on Twitter - and would like to again encourage more of you to do the same.

The big news this month is that we have another fine sponsor in the form of Victory Point Games. I'd like to thank Alan Emrich, Noelle Le Bienvenue and Bill Barrett for the help they've given in getting VPG logos and e-gaming files ready for this month's update. VPG are very keen to encourage people to produce play-aids for their (non-solitaire) games.

In fact a comment from Alan has prompted the addition of a new thread in the forum where you can tell us, by publisher, which games you'd next like some generous sole to create an e-gaming aid for. Please use this so people know what you'd like to see and, as it was Alan's idea, I'd especially encourage VPG customers and potential customers to get typing.

I have to say Alan's enthusiasm for this hobby is nothing short of infectious and I hope you'll give VPG and all our sponsors your enthusiastic support.

The alliance with VPG means that we have a humungous number of new downloads for you this month (and do look out for a few non-VPG gems in there too). I bet that Fritz is glad he's no longer expected to review every single new gamebox!

Talking of reviews, please do use the new facilities to rate the downloads and to leave comments; we're putting a lot of effort into trying to make the site more interactive – our thanks to those of you that have used these facilities already.

Andy Loakes in a Limey Yank Games tshirtThe last bit of news is that I've bitten the bullet and decided to splash out of airfare to Consimworld Expo again this June. Last year was my first visit - and I loved it. Meeting a number of you was amongst the highlights of the week. Hopefully I'll meet more of you this year. If there is any interest, I'll again have some LYG polo-shirts made and bring them over (saving on shipping). If you are interested drop me a line and I'll find out prices. I'm guessing around £15 ($25) but will check when and if there is interest. They are available in a range of sizes and colours.

My thanks as always to our visitors, sponsors and contributors.
